People will just start bitching that they can't tell a robot to hold the lettuce or order anything off the "secret menu" anymore because all sandwiches will start being made the exact same way no matter what. Demand for human employees will rise and pretty much nothing will change. People fear robots too much to let this happen any time within the next hundred years.

I don't really see where this fear of automation is coming from. I'd imagine we're much further away than 30 years from machines significantly transforming the job outlook anyway. Not sure what you were getting at in the end about this leading to fascism tbh.

This is not the greatest sig in the world, no. This is just a tribute.
Well, I've got guns and I've got ammo.
I'm good for the worker's revolution.

I mean, until the liberals take them from me, and then we will all have no means by which to confront the oppressive
Bourgeois or the corrupt Oligarchy that works for them.

History will repeat itself. That's how we'll adapt. Sadly a capitalist society cannot coexist with one that has automated labor.

Is that really sad?

Is there even any compelling data suggesting automation leads to a net job loss? Humanity has automated quite a bit throughout history and markets have always adapted to utilize the supply of workers.

You will find out who you are not a thousand times, before you ever discover who you are. I hope you find peace in yourself and learn to love instead of hate.

Those labor camps for jobless people in the industrial revolution were pretty snazzy.

Problem isn't so much with automation as it is class. The low end has always taken the brunt and the high enders always rode the profit.

Yeah. Take a look at it and put your disliking aside. I'm no fan of the way capitalism has done things but I can't throw out that it has gotten some things done too. When whatever particular collapse hits us, it'll be messy. It'll be a shame to see progress lost.

If I'm not here, I'm doing photography. Or I'm asleep. Or in lockdown. One of those three, anyway.

The current titlebar/avatar setup is just normal.
There'll likely be a niche market for handcrafted/"people-crafted" stuff just like wood furniture has today over stuff from Ikea.

Emphasis on niche though. The demand for people created stuff will be a lot lower than the mass produced stuff and with it being cheaper also, convenience will win out.

You could argue that with an automated labour force you just don't have to work. In the short term that's bad for labourers, but in the long term could increase rates of tertiary education, or people being more creative with their freetime as people move from relatively simple jobs to stuff more suited with the modern world.

I'm optimistic about the robot migrants stealling all err jerbs.

If menial labour by humans is no longer necessary, people will need to retrain/start on more advanced paths than burger flipping.

Automation raises the bar for what sort of skills you need to be an employable/useful member of society, simply giving everyone dindu money because a robot does a better job than them is absurd. It's pathetic that people just want to take the easy welfare options in life.

If a robot does a better job than you, find a way to do a better job than the robot.

Humanity will not progress by fizzling out all competition because some feefees might get a bit tendied.
