Just dropped Latin, what language should I consider pursuing instead?

I'd do russian out of those because it's cool.

But then I was forced to do French at GCSE and I fucking hated it (It meant I had to drop two subjects I otherwise wanted to do) so I'm perhaps not the best person to listen to. Those french lessons killed more or less all interest I will ever have in learning another language.

German is a bitch to learn unless you get to study abroad. In my German class, three of us have been taking German since high school, so 7-ish years, whereas the other three only started in college, but have gotten to study abroad, and they're already way ahead of the others.

Russian, but I'm probably biased since I am still learning it myself.
The Cyrillic alphabet is easy to learn due to its similarities to ours. To me the language also sounds nice.

German is just a mess of grammatical rules with tons of exceptions contained in themselves so it becomes a chore learn.
I got to understand more about the intricacies of the german language through the beginner's course for Latin than I did by attenting the course for german.

French is fun to speak but a bitch to learn. I preferred Latin to it.

I have no experience with the other languages listed.

I'd say Chinese is more relevant than Japanese unless you're looking to work the JET or do translation.

If you're looking to take an Asian language that is.

Japanese was/is fun to learn, it's a nice dogmatic language without all the gorillion self-contradictions you get with certain ones. However it's not really the most useful language to learn.

I almost wish I'd done Russian in school instead of Japanese, but I don't really regret learning moonrunes.

If you feel like misery then go for Chinese, shitty language and horrendous alphabet but it's about the most valuable business language after English today.

I would love to learn German or Russian.

I still refuse to learn Spanish to this day because of the school system, and because some shitstain guest I had at work told me I NEED to learn Spanish in order to work for Disney. Little did he know how spiteful I am.
