I think you guys are very confused concerning the definition of "puppet state".

I was directing that more towards the statement you made about it being an independent nation. It really isn't as it relies on the US for a lot of things.

If you're referring to real puppet states then you'll be hard pressed to find a nation that actually is one these days. Do certain nations (like the US) have sway in a lot of nations? Yes, but these nations aren't being controlled by said large and influential nations.

About as close as you can get to one frankly. Trade routes, politics, and governmental decisions are all made for the benefit of the folks down south of us.

Take the alberta oil sands. That shit isn't being circulated around in our country. That shit is being shipped off to the US since our gworious PM enjoys stripping anything of monetary gain and shipping it all to the US only to have them sell it back to us at ripoff prices.

Not to mention the whole aid in war type deal. If there's a war on somewhere our troops will be sent out to the meat grinder no doubt.
