Just doing some thinking here, about the part where Murray talks about leakers doing damage that they have no idea about. His example, specifically saying something along the lines of "X foreign minister or president saying they hope Isreal bombs palestine" or something along those lines.

I can understand the point, of wanting to cover it up, due to foreign relations and tensions and all that. But on the other hand, I ask, why hide that?

Why hide under a guise of civility when really, there's none to be found? It makes democracy or any form of foreign relations completely and totally fake. And not only that but it's a lie. The only place a lie can go, is deeper down. The more you cover for a lie the more you have to dig a deeper hole until it doesn't make any fucking sense anymore.

I do understand that of course, those leaks led to various shitty outcomes for various reasons. But Murray's example there was kind of shitty.

Fuck Snowden. The guy "revealed" what I had been saying for years and if you found out the government was spying on you after Snowden told you're an idiot.

He's a traitor. He fled to Russia almost immediately holding a shit ton of info. How can you hate your government so much you'd prefer Russia (fucking Russia) knows its dirty secrets?

Well if he was captured and given back to the US you could kiss that sweet ass data goodbye and no one would know, which sort of defeats the purpose of getting the West hunting you.

Russia is the only country that isn't the USA's puppet.

Of course we all believed that the government spied on its citizens. Nobody's trusted the Feds since the 50's. He told us how they did it.
