I know it's a joke but I'm sick to the back teeth of the assault rifle argument. Handguns are the leading cause of gun death and crime in the US, not assault rifles. If you want to clamp down on gun fatalities, go after users of handguns.
I hate the term assault rifle in general. Civilians, for the most part, can't own them. The ones who do are rich and have gone through moths of stringent background checks. And with my petty rant over, these politicians are playing the fear mongering card to the public; it's why so much focus is placed on semi-automatic sporting rifles instead of handguns and socioeconomic issues. It's also a flawed argument also as this rifle

Isn't even an AR-15. It's this rifle

Sold in a plastic shell that resembles the look of an AR-15. On top of that there are multiple handguns that are far more dangerous than an AR-15, especially one chambered in .22
