I'd say it definitely threatens his credibility and capital. He's already a man coming into office with approval ratings 10+ points lower than his predecessor, and Republicans need Democrats to pass much of his agenda in the Senate.

Great post, though even though you didn't really mean it, Putin has made it clear he doesn't want the USSR/Communism as the power again. He even criticized Lenin publicly, and has done more to give a good light to the last Czar family disposed.

If anything, he wants to reinstate a Czar royal family again, completely away from political matters (he said as much). And I honestly think that'd be cool. Communism destroyed Russian culture, which is sad, so it'd be cool to see a royal family back.

Russia is a whimpering animal backed into the corner lashing out in fear; they could started firing the fuel for a nuclear missile aimed at Kissimmee and I would still sit back and not flinch. Putin may have balls but he's not fucking stupid. Anything serious coming out of Russia will incur the wrath of European forces, in which case I can say that some good finally came from my globalist enemies. The only thing he'll get out of blackmailing Trump would just help them slightly economically after the Crimea sanctions. Either that or help Assad win his Civil War in which case, so fucking what? The US has no reason to even be involved in the Middle East.

The report is fishy for various reasons--among them, an anonymous former intel agent wrote a report about stuff other anonymous people told him; the IC did not vet the claims; the report was shopped around to various outlets, including Mother Jones; and a number of the claims are outlandish, if not blatantly false:

Am I missing something or does this entire story really just relies on the word of a random anon saying that he fed this information to Buzzfeed well after the fact? Because if so, I'm going to be even more skeptical about this than I am about the Trump implications.

The original 4chan post about the piss is in November, so either early drafts of this were circulated by the news and some anon decided to take credit, or that part is true and you can disregard that paragraph of the report, at least.

It is deeply hypocritical how the media is treating this, immediately after a month-long stink about fake news -- not that many actually give a shit about anything but posting headlines that get page views.
