then there's Leviticus, the biggest contradiction Christians happily gloss over.

In their defence, most Christian denominations hold steady to disregarding the OT, which Leviticus was a part of.

We don't disregard Leviticus OR the Old testament.
It's simply that Jesus made many of the rituals and laws in the Old Testament null and void.

The fact god ever okayed killing for those reasons contradicts a loving a caring god.

God planned to redeem the world through Jesus Christ. He would come from Israel, and the line of David.
If Israel were destroyed, taken over, or joined a different tribe, Christ would never have come to be.

So all those rules and guidelines in the OT were to keep His plan for Israel, and for redeeming the world on track.
To keep Israel separate from other tribes, faithful to Him, and safe from invaders.


Human sacrifice? This wasn't any man. This was the Son of God, who CHOSE to die for humanity's sins. He could have refused, said no, at any time. But He went through it all willingly. You didn't ask Christ to die for you, nor did I. But you know what Jesus did?

He gave us the option of choosing Heaven or not.

In god's infinite wisdom the only way he could come up with to forgive people was to sacrifice his son?  That sounds terrible. There is nothing noble or moral about being a human scape goat.

Separation of church and state reigns supreme in Florida schools once again after officials chose to cancel a Bible handout event rather than let the Satanic Temple and Freedom From Religion Foundation distribute their own materials to students.

In response to Orange County Public Schools allowing Christian groups to give free Bibles to students on Religious Freedom Day, the Satanic Temple petitioned to gain equal access to the event in an effort to give students actual religious freedom. Because they allowed bible thumpers to expose students to their Christian beliefs, they opened the door for other religious and non-religious groups to seek the same privileges. And so, Satanists and atheists stepped up to the plate and challenged the school district to enact real religious freedom if it was going to insist upon violating separation of church and state.

But rather than allow the FFRF and the Satanic Temple to distribute their own materials alongside their Christian counterparts, the Orange County school board has decided to cancel the event entirely, thus reverting back to the observance of separation of church and state that would have prevented this situation in the first place.
