However if someone genuinely believes they are a Dog trapped in a human body, or whatever creature/supernatural being they think they are then that is just screaming delusional/psychotic disorder.

Although it's hard to find a case where it occurs naturally (that is, in the absence of "otherkin" culture), a lot of things otherkin experience like phantom parts and whatnot are legitimate dysphoria.
