But before this book entered my life, I thought I had reached the mountain of Enlightenment.. Turns out I was wrong, that my climb continues.

It started around the beginning of this year. I felt something within was changing, my perspective of the world around me. What was it I wondered? but I couldn't make it out in thought, only feel it out in body. I started to come to conclusion that God isn't a being.. but a state of inner peace that is achievable to anyone. I also felt and still do, that we experience and live through more than one life. Death is the end to one beginning, but a start to a new beginning

What an amazing experience it has been to find a better, more true self.

Currently reading "The Accidental Buddhist"
Have read "Siddhartha" and "Buddha"
Zen Buddhism is what I'm focusing on with mindfulness meditation and it feels really good.

the rza wrote a couple cool books influenced by daoist and buddhist philosophy, among other stuff. they are the dao of wu and the wu-tang manual.

Meditation feels great, but often I am willing to bet, I try too hard with it and it doesn't function authentically?

It's all about not trying really. Relieving yourself of effort and becoming effortless. The issue many people have (including myself) is the mind's tendency to want to continue working in some way. Thinking about the process when the real objective is to abolish thinking and try to attune awareness to the 'here and now'

While he isn't exactly Buddhist, his teachings aren't dissimilar by any means. Some people like to hype him as some great guru and master, as if he has all the answers, but I still find what he says to be very fascinating and it ties in very well with my own zen/non-dualist like philosophy.

But Buddhism doesn't worship a deity and I hold no belief in one such existing. Furthermore, I am only willing to worship your dog if he/she is a German Shepherd.
