Do you have anything that supports your theory?
Well, I don't have a theory--I have a hypothesis, so I'm going purely by intuition alone. It seems clear to me, but I could be wrong. I just really think that I'm right.

When you strip an individual's individuality, you have a blank slate that could be called "him", in his purest state.

I mean, it's sort of akin to saying something like, "I have a me," from my perspective.

"I have a perception of myself that is produced by my brain" would probably be the best possible way to put it.

Cool shit, I'll do some research from your perspective tmmrw if I have the time and get back to you if I find something interesting.

Don't know if Michigan is in the eastern time zone but as you can see it's getting a bit l8. I think I'm gonna pack it up for tonight.

If I'm not here, I'm doing photography. Or I'm asleep. Or in lockdown. One of those three, anyway.

The current titlebar/avatar setup is just normal.

Here's some additional stuff I thought of as I was heading to bed last night:

If it's true, and there is no "root" to the self, does it even make logical sense that we even use the same names anymore? I've had my name for twenty years, but if someone's going to argue that I'm a different person than I was when I was 1, perhaps I should drop my name.

You might say, well, the only reason we don't do that is because of logistic reasons. Changing your name is a hassle, and your name is just how we've come to know you. But that would be contradictory, because there IS no "you". "You" is constantly changing, right? Every time I wake up, I'm a slightly new person--therefore, it follows that you don't know me anymore. You can make educated guesses about what remains about me, but ultimately, I'm a different person, so it doesn't make any sense to call me by a name I went by yesterday, because that's not me anymore.

...Or, you could say, "Fuck that," and recognize that our name is essentially representative of our individual identities, or the root of our identities.

How could you have any sort of relationship with anybody? You'd wake up the next day with a different person. The person you fell in love with last year isn't the person you're in love with now. That's kinda fucked up.

And that's not an emotional appeal--ethically speaking, it would behoove you to never have any sort of relationship with anybody, because people tend not to be comfortable with the idea that you're not the same person 24/7/365.

For this reason, due to the sheer ludricrousness of that logic, I would still say that we are the same person all throughout our lives, and we simply build upon ourselves.

His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The god of Ainu Mosir, Ae-Oine Kamuy, descendant of Okiku-Rumi, He perishes, a living corpse. The summers day, the white sunlight, unabrushed, ends simply through his breath alone.
I'm going to use Pokemon as an analogy here.

You've got Charmander, and you name him Lunchmeat. Charmander evolves into Charmelion, but his name is still Lunchmeat. There are definitely a number of similarities between the two (moves, nature, stats at time of evolution, nickname), but Charmelion is not Charmander. That doesn't mean he isn't still Lunchmeat, but he isn't the same beast that he was before.

Evolution requires changing; everyone changes over their lives. A phrase that's common, "I'm not the man I was yesterday"; you're still obviously the same man, but you have a fundamentally different mindset now. To that end, "I" is a constantly changing descriptor that entails the now, not the past or future. "I" is rooted in your experiences and predispositions, yes, but ultimately claiming a root doesn't justify the changes themselves nor is it able to accurately describe a person.

I think that's my problem with your "fundamental root" position, that it doesn't really have anything to do with an "I". So, it's a semantic issue.

Yeah, fair enough. That's a good analogy.
