Republicans moved one step closer to repealing Obamacare when the House passed a measure this afternoon directing committees to begin working on legislation to repeal major pieces of the law.The resolution cleared the House 227-198. Ten members didn't vote. Similar legislation passed in the Senate Thursday morning largely along party lines.Republican leaders expect to enact a repeal as early as next month; House Speaker Paul Ryan said it would "definitely" come in the first 100 days. They also say they will advance a replacement at a similar pace, though it could take years to go into effect. The passage of the budget measure allows Republicans to dismantle large pieces of the Affordable Care Act quickly and efficiently.A group of nine moderate and conservative House Republicans voted against the bill with concerns that Republicans would end up repealing the law without clearly laying out and presenting their replacement."The only thing I've ever asked for is that the replacement plan be fully developed before we take on the repeal issue," Rep. Charlie Dent, R-PA, a leading moderate who voted against the measure, said in an interview.Hardliners want more details and are concerned about adding to the deficit.Democrats criticized the vote and accused the GOP of playing politics."It's being done for political reasons," said Rep. John Delaney, D-Maryland, on the House floor.
How much do you want to bet that there is no replacement plan?

I don't see it going to the lengths that the ACA did to ensure protections for those with preexisting conditions. They seem to be pushing the idea that they want to make healthcare "accessible" to all. Problem is without those protections, the most vulnerable are going to pay the most.

Repealing it now and then leaving the American public with nothing while they try to come up something else would/will be disastrous.
If Republicans leave millions in the cold, they'll for sure lose tons of house and senate seats.

What better way to get them back by saying"The party you just voted in did everything in their power to make you and your kids have no health insurance, so you can't be protected. We offered this to you, and yes it needed improvements, and we were willing to work with them to fix it, but what do they do? They gut the entire thing."

You'd think obstructing all these years, they'd have thought up one by now and showed it.
"I posted about my son's cerebral palsy and how the ACA enables him to get more physical/occupational therapy (Not a monetary issue, an insurance red-tape issue) and had 5 different redditors say "your retard should just die" and that kind of thing." this trump supporter responds:"Oh fuck off. Take care of your fucking self, no one has any obligation to pay for your problems. It's no ones fault but your own that you had a retarded child when you or your wife should have gotten it aborted. You knew what you were getting in to."
