Should non-STEM majors be required to learn algebra?

Yes.

Considering algebra is taught in elementary and middle school, I don't see how this has to do anything with STEM/non-STEM majors in college.

Yes, I intend on using Khan Academy to brush up on my algebra before I start studying Economics at Uni. If I need it for Economics, I think STEM students should have a decent command of it, too.

i chose to major in history specifically to take as few STEM courses as possible. i know enough algebra to get by. if you make me take more math classes i swear ill skullfuck your firstborn child

Khan is a decent resource. You can also find online lectures for just about anything on youtube.

If it were up to me, algebra and mathematical thinking would be a requirement for every single year of higher education. The logic seriously, truly does help.
