The UK's new business secretary's reforms: harder to strike, less regulation

This guy is my representative, I'm glad to say. We've had a look at some of Sajid Javid's coming reforms:
- Deregulation of the labour market.
- Scrapping the right to sue for unfair dismissal.
- Allowing companies with less than 10 employees fire anybody at will with a pay-off.
- And requiring public service unions in healthcare, transport, the fire service and education to have at least 50pc member turnout with 40pc support when calling strikes.

I can gladly say I pretty much support all of these.

That's the only one I can see there being a legitimate problem with, but I can't comment further without reading the legislation we'll eventually see.

On the face of it, there certainly needs to be a change in the law; there is no presumption of innocence for the accused. I'm not sure I'm totally down with it being completely scrapped though. We'll have to look when it's in writing.

Hmm, well with my usual cautiousness regarding the holy grail put aside, telling the transport unions to fuck off would be lovely. It's an utter farce how frequently they disrupt the capital with their tantrums.

I read through them earlier today and nothing really struck me as 'oh god why' so I don't think I'll be too worried about this chap.

The ones that have me concerned is putting the halfwit Gove incharge of the new bonger constitution (Bill of Rights w/e) because we all know he did such a wonderful job with the schools. And dear old IBS in charge of DWP again, so basically 'fuck the disabled'.

Striking + Unions = a major problem

At least they did something about striking. I follow German politics quite often, and there have been two massive strikes from the train conductors/workers so far this year. I heard that they drafted legislation disallowing Government workers from striking and it will pass.

All Governments should disallow Government employees/workers from striking, period. It's ridiculous.

But yeah, striking is bullshit, and is only justified like 5% of the time. The rest of the time, it's just money grabbing from the state.
