I think it's funny how you have Pablo Escobar as your avatar and yet you're here praising governments and acting as if poverty is practically a thing of a long forgotten past. Yes. There may be less people literally starving to death. But the majority of people in Africa don't have access to electricity. And even in America, there are still a shit ton of people that are poor.That man in your picture is a direct result of this system we live in. A system that keeps our heads just above water in 1st world countries and has people dying in infancy in most other countries. But you don't care, and none of you here have experienced that desperation so you just read a few articles on your computer in your house telling you everything is going to be ok and you believe it.
Socialism isn't about people being equal, it's about equal people sharing. At least that's my understanding of it. Poor people won't be among the people who share, because they're too low to be included.

That's only because the manufacturing industry up and outsourced to third world shitholes like China and India. And even though their economies are growing and all, the standard of living for most people in these countries is easily comparable to many African nations.
