Regardless of your political affiliation, I think representative government is better for everyone when more people vote and more people are represented.

realized that was a dumb idea and I shut myself out of the primaries
I'll probably change that when I have to renew my license.

I was 19 in 2012, and didn't really feel that I knew enough about what I was voting for to vote intelligently, so I didn't. Additionally, there weren't any state issues on the ballot that year and the presidential race was basically just picking a skin color for the next 4 years.

Yep. Registered Democrat for reasons beneficial to myself. But always vote republican in federal and state elections. Bout 50/50 in local elections.

The county I live in is ran by democrats. I'm friends with a couple of the freeholders. Usually you have to go through them to get permits and what not. Me being a dem and being friends with them gives me more or less special treatment.

I feel awful about it. Been eligible for the last two presidential elections, but haven't even registered. That's gonna change next time around, even if I think all the candidates are wankers.

Only federal stuff. I can't vote in the state I'm living in, and I find it very difficult to stay informed about candidates from my distinct of residency.

I actually wouldn't mind doing that. Get a whole day where you listen to an elaborate story and then make a decision that affects someone else's life in a significant way; sounds groovy.
