Do you have any original ideas?

I have one idea, which I like to call the Aesthetic Principle, that I maintain is sort of semi-original. It basically asserts that all forms of human, if not sentient, behaviour necessarily stems from aesthetics. I've seen it expressed in vaguely similar forms - Pirsig's MOQ, Nietzsche's perspectivism - but never in a way that explicitly makes aesthetics the very basis of philosophy.

I independently came up w/ an interpretation of quantum mechanics(as in that was the way in which it made the most sense to me) that is analogous to Wojciech Zurek's quantum darwinism so while not totally original I had the basics in my brain before I read the paper.

Don't know how original it is, but instead of a over-complicated tax code simplify it by saying if you do business in America then you pay taxes; no if's, and's, or but's. Percentages would based on profits, with a percentage cap at 20%

Oh shit, just came up with a cool business idea. Take the experience of a gun store but put some pizazz on it and give it a more country club feel. A 5-star restaurant, bar, members/VIP lounge, climate-controlled indoor and outdoor ranges, etc, etc. Gun sales will take a more elegant approach with fine-dressed sales people and displays similar to Best Buy and Apple where people can approach and have a feel for the product they'd like to buy.

Of course, people who drink will not be allowed to handle any firearms and firearms out on display will be inert and/or replicas

A point I was going to make. People are inspired by things. Everything plays a part in our ideas. And therefore, no idea is technically original because it has a base and foundation in something else. Ideas can be new. But not original. Not completely.

I'm not comfortable enough or well known enough to openly discuss some of my ideas and perceptions. By nature I'm a guarded person.

Here's one of my ideas:
I have a fantasy story set in another universe involving two protagonists. They're destined to antagonize each other on opposing sides of a war depicted brought about by society's influences at the expense of their individual identities. The story as a whole documents the transition of these characters from free individuals to involved combatants, and ultimately asserts that
a.) Individuals must escape from society for some duration of time to truly understand themselves
b.) Initial blame can be allocated to no one
Other things asserted:
c.) Family by blood is irrelevant to attachment
d.) Magic is inspired by scientific theories in earth's universe
e.) Society does not care about individuals
f.) Society perpetuates its influence through history, and this history constrains people
g.) This list could go on, but I'll stop it here

. This is a very brief summary not including world details.

I've had a few, but I always forget them because they're minor things.

Usually I just combine what I know with other ideas, or improve on current stuff if it seems feasible.
