What if someones depression came from how life essentially boils down to doing the same thing till you die?

There's a really simple answer for that. No matter what you do, you're generally always going to fall into a pattern of doing things. A routine of sorts. That's just how people work. But if your depression comes from looking at your life, seeing the routines you're going to be doing for most of it, and then getting depressed about it, then you know what that means?

You're not doing enough things that make you happy. Your life is devoid of things to spur you on and catch your focus and interest. That's the trick with being happy. You always have to move. For example. Let's say you like watching movies quite a bit.

If you sat down for a week and did nothing else but watch movies, no doubt, your appreciation for them would decline.  Because they became too routine. Happiness isn't a constant thing. Or more importantly, you can't linger too long on a certain aspect. It's about shifting your focus with everything you do. Like shifting gears for different speeds.

When you're focused, and something has your attention, you're not unhappy. Because your mind is invested in actively thinking about what's there in front of you. Surrounding yourself with little bits and pieces of these moments all over the place, all the time, is how you make your life something interesting.

That's that cleaned up, keep on topic from this point on. No quoting tackel to continue it and tackel kindly make another thread for your high quality and well thought out opinions or stop shitting up this one.

But isn't that a form of helping. If someone wants to rip off a bandaid, instead of coddling them and telling them it's all "gun b k", sometimes it just helps to tell them to rip the fucking bandaid off.

While for some here that might not be the advice they want to hear, but it's still advice nonetheless.

Besides, I'm not telling them to. I'm just saying there's no harm in doing so.

I don't appreciate that it just gets casted aside because some people don't want to follow that particular advice. But some people in the world do.
