Could the SWAT team handle a Black Widow terrorist attack?

Let's say in the US there's a terrorist situation that's simlar to that Black Widow school one or the theater one. Would the SWAT team be able to handle something like that when we haven't had anything like that or would we have to ask the Spetsnaz for help since they deal with that type of shit?

I think they could handle it. I don't see why not. Is it the idea they couldn't handle it because they're women?

It's because we haven't had anything like that before. Russia on the other hand has which they would be experienced with. Some person shooting up a school is one thing. It's completely different when you have a room filled with hostages that have suicide bombers with them.

Yeah, SWAT teams specialize in hostage rescue and counterterrorism, so I don't see why they wouldn't be qualified to handle that.

They should be, but it could also end up the same way as the incident in Russia.

Personally the difference is that America has never been in the same war like conditions that Chechnya has and thus the initial situation could be worse and more bloody than the finale.

Honestly in hostage situations the way the hostage takers react determines the outcome. Trust me if they are going in to die then there is not much the SWAT will be available to do other than mitigate damage.

I'm not sure. In school shootings something personally usually provokes the shooter (bullies, depression, etc) suicide bombers is usually for an organization and for their religion. My point being is that it would be easier (and we have more experience) to talk down a teen who has been bullied and whatnot than a suicide bomber who said they would do it for a cause.
