Trust me, it has nothing to do with Islam and everything to do with the family. I found myself in an extremely similar situation to yours with a Christian girl.That being said I'm surprised she would even date someone outside the faith -- that would be a deal breaker for some, especially if they're on the more devout side.

I was with this Christian girl once. A really nice southern girl, she took her faith pretty seriously. I'm a Muslim and we would kind of just joke about it because I guess I'm not that serious about it besides praying every night and not eating disgusting ass pigs. Like she would bring up some problem and I would say "oh don't worry Jesus has a plan for you" and she would reply "I know you're joking but it's true!" Granted I'm not marrying this girl This isn't the Middle Ages, religion doesn't need to be such an influence where you cut off potential partners
