tbh I'm feeling the Bern lately. I don't like his policies but everyone is quick to point out how ineffectual presidents are in making real policy, and there's no way I'd vote for Trump (or even Cruz).

It's the problem with a Presidential system (forget the name, forgive me) as opposed to a Parliamentary system that much of Europe and Canada has. Parties get cycled in an out in Parliamentary ones which actually allows things to happen.

With the current state of affairs (actually since like the 80's) of our government, it makes our foundation of government effectively useless. One only has to look at Congress's approval ratings to get that. So something will eventually have to change. Be it a 3rd party or something else, but that's even more unlikely.
