Proposed in the wake of a deadly May 2014 shooting rampage by Elliot Rodger, the bill provides family members with a means of having an emergency “gun violence restraining order” imposed against a loved one if they can convince a judge that this person’s possession of a firearm “poses an immediate and present danger of causing personal injury to himself, herself or another by having in his or her custody or control.”

No, what is without notice is the collection. As in the owners of the guns will not be notified beforehand that their property will be seized.

What is news is that it is going into effect.

All of this was known almost two years ago when the law was made public. None of this should be a surprise to anyone.

Alerting a potentially dangerous individual that police officers are coming to take away their easy method of killing is also a pretty good idea. What the world needs is more dead people.

If we drop the sensationalism and start being realistic about this we can see that the vast majority of law abiding gun owning citizens will not be affected by this due to the fact that warrants are not issued unless there is actual evidence to back up claims made. But hey, I'm running into freedumbs territory here so there really isn't any use in trying to argue. Have fun door.

I feel the need to mention, for everyone screaming and worrying over gun control, your guns will never be taken. America has WAY too many guns to be taken. America has a estimated 300 million guns. Imagine how difficult it would be to locate and take possession of every gun in the land. It's impossible. Gun control really shouldn't be worried about as much as it is, not that it isn't a topic to remember. How I see it, gun control is needed, but your guns will never truly be banned. Do I think they should be? Yeah, but it will never happen.
