His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The god of Ainu Mosir, Ae-Oine Kamuy, descendant of Okiku-Rumi, He perishes, a living corpse. The summers day, the white sunlight, unabrushed, ends simply through his breath alone.

Not really the "root", but something that's seriously fucked up in the first place. Filing for bankruptcy is literally saying that you can't afford your bills; the fact that they will assist in paying your car, house, and whatever else but NOT student debt is crazy. Especially with how much debt the average person graduates with.

Follow the British model, limit how much universities can charge so the prices aren't extortionate and make it easier to pay it back.

Why limit them? Its a choice, if people are willing to pay 60k a year to go to NYU, then let them.

You could easily go to a CC for 4k a year or just not go to college at all.

Well by letting universities charge what they want they essentially become an option only for the rich.

All you have to do is take out loans and be smart about it.

For example, even with partial scholarships (which covered most of my college), I still owe about 25k in student loans. Personally, it was completely worth it.

You'd still be a terrible person for not wanting your wealth to help future generations get an education.
sorry verby

but if im rich, i shouldnt be obligated to help out others and keep an isolationist approach with my money. sure, its messed up, but i shouldnt be forced to pay off someone's else's debt when i have my own stuff to worry about.

"flaming nipple chops"-Your host, the man they call Ghost.

To say, 'nothing is true', is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say, 'everything is permitted', is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic.
Is that bad? Should children be punished because their parents were successful?
Not receiving your parents' wealth after they die isn't punishment.

It just means you should have to earn it just like everybody else.
Then why hand out money to people that didn't earn it so they can buy things?

College students across the country are protesting student loan debt, arguing that public university tuition should be free.

Did they forget that they live in America, land of capitalism? Where do those silly socialist ideas come from? Damn you eurocommies and canadians.

Yeah, they have to buy that though. Secondary education isn't free and it isn't a necessity.

When anyone can get a loan for school, what incentive does the school have not to charge as much as they want?  They get the money no matter what, because the government doesn't run out of money.

It IS a necessity in today's job market.

Irrelevant, it costs money.

But it's totally not. You can still go to a craft school. There are plenty of jobs that don't require degrees.

Money that students seeking an education should not be obliged to spend.

Whatever it's called then, a school that teaches a craft or trade(welding, machining, etc.). Might not be the correct term, but I thought it would be clear what I meant.

You can argue and believe it's a right that man should have, but the reality is that it costs money to get a secondary education and degree, and it's not a necessity. You can have people pay for that investment on their own, or you can coerce others to pay it for them. Were it something that people needed to get forward in life, I might agree.

You want to know how to REALLY solve the debt problem? Its simple, work your ass off for it. I got through with 40k of debt from university, and only a single degree in a surprisingly tough market to break into to show for it, and yet here I am with my debt paid off completely, and a nice house to boot. I got there through hard work and determination to succeed, not by relying on handouts from other people, or by complaining about how my degree didnt get me as far as I thought. I sucked it up and tried my hardest to get into a field I enjoyed and had the potential to go further in.

They're not going to accomplish much. Until enough people stop going to college to the point where their profit drops, tuition will still be high.
Plus I don't think college should be free, but it definitely should be a lot cheaper. Student debt is a real big problem and it's obvious the system is a little fucked up. I have scholarships and still took out a loan for some semesters so I'll have that lingering over my head. Thank god I'm in stem so I can pay that shit back asap.

they shouldn't HAVE to go out and get themselves into 60k of debt either, maybe if they weren't fucking idiots and got a trade job, or something that can be achieved through college and build UP to having the experience and skill in their desired profession before fast tracking straight to university with zero experience in the working world, they wouldnt have the problem of debt, would they?

Yes they would. Most people who are in debt know that they have to pay it off somehow.
In fact, everyone with a functioning brain knows that.

That doesn't change the fact that they still have debt to pay off in the first place.

tell me why we should bail out people who grabbed a shovel, started digging, and are only just now realizing that they've dug themselves into a hole? In my eyes they deserve it, and need to find a way out themselves. What's your reasonig behind helping someone like that?

you have the right to a generalized education by living in America.
Deciding to specialize in something further is your own choice, and contrary to popular belief, not a requirement for a decent life.
