IS is executing anyone running away.
Jesus the Iraqi army is a mess. A lot of that is blind fire from way off. Not to mention their hodgepodge of uniforms/civi gear.Air game and Iranian competency should give them the advantage tho. It'll be bad if this turns more sectarian though. They're pushing into Sunni territory with largely Shia forces.

Not saying they didn't threaten them with death, but Russia wasn't this whole entire "YOU LEAVE YOU DIE! YOU SAVE COMRADE AND DISOBEY ORDERS?! YOU DIE!"
Quote from: Luciana on March 03, 2015, 05:41:29 PMYou know, if ISIS is good for one thing, it's that they've united otherwise common enemies towards a bigger threat. All these smaller factions represent different threat levels to different people. The Shia forces of Iraq and Iran have a bad habit of depopulating "liberated" Sunni towns, and allowing new Shia residents to inhabit the homes. America has made a pretty big mistake here, by not intervening soon enough to protect the local Sunnis against ISIS, and essentially cooperating with Iran. We've already lost the war for hearts and minds there. We may have lost Iraq to Iranian influence altogether.
