I am always around, but never seen. I am often avoided, but you can't out run me. for I will come when you're old and grey, or maybe even the very next day. I will come with cold embrace, and give you rest with a chilled kiss on your face. I come in many forms of emotional state, whether it's irony, love, laughter, or hate. I am everyone's final fate.
One thing that's always bothered me about Mormons is their eerie cheerfulness and suits, now I do like a man in a suit and it's always nice to get a friendly smile but Mormons are so... unnatural about it... it's like you've all sold your souls to some eldritch horror that wants to harvest us for our skin.

Why do you always pretend to be happy and wear suits?
Truthfully, those overly happy people aren't pretending, especially the missionaries, in which I believe that's what you're referring to?
I've talked to many missionaries and a lot of them are close friends and they said you become so happy because you mostly dedicate those to years to serving God and the people. They all said that by the end of their mission they had an overwhelming love for the people and didn't want to return home.
Ask any Mormon and they will say serving others will make you happier and humble.
Huh, interesting...
Oh, and the suit thing is so we look respectable. It would be weird if some guy came to your door in a tank-top and shorts preaching about God...lol. We wear suits to church to show respect to God.
Actually if a guy in a tank top (at least in America) came to buy door preaching about God I'd assume he was a criminal trying to turn his life around.

If a guy in a suit came to preach about God I'd feel like pretty creeped out, no offence but Mormons do creep me out, I had two approach me one night when I was walking alone and they almost gave me a heart attack.
haha yeah, exactly, we aren't criminals. And I don't think criminals are allowed to go on missions. They're pretty strict on who gets to go.
hahah no offense taken. XD I understand that. But I think you may think they're creepy because of your culture. Isn't it weird for some random person to smile at you in the streets? Very much so, now make that two guys in suits, you've never met smiling at you and try to hand you an odd book or talk to you about God. If you put it like I did anyone would think it's odd/creepy.

3. We're not a cult. We are Christian.

I don't think it does anything to pointlessly insult someone, and I don't think labeling it as a cult accomplishes anything. The practices I've experienced (forced mission trips, outcasting those that refuse to do one or fail to finish it, extremely exclusivistic practices such as the practices in temples, etc) are largely cultish, but who does it help to argue about the term?

As for Christianity, there are a few basic tenets that define the various denominations. First, there is only one God, which Mormonism denies. Second, encompassing the first and second commandments, is that it is wrong to believe in false gods. There are several more that are absolutely contradicted by Mormonism. Here's a list of some other doctrinal conflicts:

-The Book of Mormon's supremacy to the Bible
-Satan and Jesus are "spirit brothers"
-God used to be a man
-You may become a god in the afterlife
-God is married to another goddess and literally procreates with her to make spirit children
-The Trinity is three distinct beings, rather than a trinity of one.
-Denial of the virgin birth, a critical fulfillment of prophecy heralding Jesus as the Messiah
-Without Joseph Smith there is no salvation, and no salvation outside of the LDS church
-Lack of believe in salvation by grace alone
-Lack of believe in the adequacy of Jesus in the act of salvation
-No salvation without accepting Joseph Smith as a prophet
-Acts are greater than grace in salvation

The fact is that the Book of Mormon is easily refuted as viable using historical concepts. Nobody from Jerusalem traveled to America and established a colony. Native Americans originated from a different continent. Skin color is not tied to ancestors' sins (I know this has been addressed by the church, but it's just backpedaling).

The beauty of Christianity is that all the documents are there to be criticized. We have extremely old copies of the texts. The textual accuracy of all the known copies is so strong that it's a historically accepted document and is literally the most consistent and accurate chronology in existence. We don't have that with the book of mormon, because the original tablets were "lost". Mormonism contradicts the word of God, therefore it's not Christian.

"But we believe in Jesus, and that's all the matters."

James 2:19 "You believe that there is one God; you do well: the devils also believe, and tremble."

This is not the greatest sig in the world, no. This is just a tribute.
Do you guys really control Utah?
Some of the cities. Like all of the stores will be closed on Sunday because it's the Sabbath. And in my town no stores sell cigarettes or alcohol.
Dry area, mostly?
note to self: don't vaction in Utah.
Actually, it's a very popular vacation spot. The terrain is beautiful, many mountains. Only southern Utah is desert-y.
I mean dry as in lacking alcohol.

This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but a whimper.
It seems to me that Mormonism is objectively more unbelievable than mainstream Christianity.

Why on Earth would you believe the words of a fraudster when he claims to have unearthed golden tablets?

What about the lost books of the bible?

New Testament apocrypha? What about them? They're not canonical, and if you don't have sufficient evidence of their existence or even reliable copies, I don't see reason to put any trust in them.

That argument is exactly the one that refutes the legitimacy of the Book of Mormon.

"flaming nipple chops"-Your host, the man they call Ghost.

To say, 'nothing is true', is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say, 'everything is permitted', is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic.
