MegathreadSo it seems after setbacks in Kobane with the US supporting the Kurdish YPG forces and the Iraqi army now reversing most of their success in Iraq, ISIS turned to one of the last and most isolated airbase in the east of Syria.
Deir Ezzor the city that houses one of the last airbases in eastern Syria is of importance for the Syrian army after their loss in Taqba, and now with ISIS making a huge assault after weeks of loosing ground slowly ISIS made a strong push to the airport only to be repelled back. Although area was gained it was not without massive casualties from over 60+ killed in one onslaught.
This airport unlike the one in Taqba is manned by Syrian Republican Guard and not conscripts and is now quite a threat to the ISIS forces with it's airstrikes. So anyway just thought to share this, and wondered if people wanted to discuss about this battle front.
