I honestly don't believe this would have happened if the kid was any other ethnicity. It's seriously bullshit, and not even reasonable bullshit. That clock does not look like a bomb, and if you think it does look like a bomb you've seen too many fucking movies.tbh people watching too many movies informs a lot of bullshit, like firearm suppressor bans.Spoilerle "door brings up guns in every thread" maymay
Apparently one of the officers took a look at the kid said, "Of course it would be you."This is REAL racism.

They led Ahmed into a room where four other police officers waited. He said an officer he’d never seen before leaned back in his chair and remarked: “Yup. That’s who I thought it was.”
I don't really see a problem with them taking this as a threat. The kid brought something that looks like a bomb
To add to the threat, he told them it was a clock, but didn't go into detail about this clock
why he made it or what it was for.
Because bombs look like alarm clocks. He must of been taught to make bombs by Willy Coyote.
Because it was a just clock.

What if it was a bomb and he said "oh it's just a clock", are they just supposed to believe him and risk people being injured or killed?
Yeah they're a but jumpy, but can you blame them? The amount of school shootings and attacks at schools pretty high.
All of my IED training says "this does not meet the criteria to freak the fuck out and call eod."
I actually kind of sympathize with the school. It was a huge red digital clock in a briefcase with a bunch of wires. The kid wasn't arrested, and I'm not sure how much I believe the kid's claim that the cop said "yeah that's who I thought it'd be". That doesn't even make sense since the kid admits he'd never met or seen him before. The suspension seems unjustified but this whole thing is pretty silly.
