If you have not noticed, people target schools because they are gun free, meaning nobody will be able to stop them before they do some damage. When was the last time you ever heard about a person shooting up a gun show? Never. Know why? Because there are guns everywhere

It's interesting how we protect our sports stadiums, government building, monuments, hospitals, banks, airports, airplanes, and plenty of other things with armed security yet for some reason we can't do the same for our children

I wasn't aware politicians, sports players, lawyers, doctors, nurses, secretaries, pilots, hostess, bankers, janitors and caretakers all walk around packing.

Many actually do. Many also have the reliance of either police forces, federal marshalls, or private security all armed with guns

Public school funding is already bare-bones. Who is going to pay for armed security? Will teachers be compensated for carrying a firearm on campus due to increased responsibility and risk? Will they have to take firearm safety and training courses at regular intervals? Can they bring their own firearm or will the school issue them one?

This is where the magic of volunteering takes place and working with several branches of government and different organizations takes place

You can compensate teachers and faculty by transitioning budget from DoH and DoD into a payment fund or simply let these teachers, or even retired military and police, come and volunteer to protect the schools. Hell, ask the NRA to help compensate since many are big on this concept

So how do you decide who can be armed? Work with either, or both, local police departments and the NRA again to set up training clinics where these people go through a modified and more intense version of a CCW class, where they learn proper maintenance, handling, and functionality of a firearm. They will also learn how to handle active-shooter situations like many police departments are currently training for. So effectively, these volunteers come out with the know-how and training at a lower level than what police go through but higher levels than what ordinary civilians can have

Everybody who completes this course will gain an official government certification that must be renewed each school year. And again, government can purchase firearms with money from DoH since this is more in their scope of control as an agency

So after all of this, we let the public know "Hey! Our schools have at least one armed person here at all times but they function like U.S Marshalls and only the school board and principals know who this person is"
