We always say to fight fire, you must use fire. This is wrong. Fighting fire with fire will leave scars and a new flame will rise. We must instead use water. It is the opposite of fire, it extinguishes the fire, it cools, it refreshes, it heals. We are made up of 70% water, we are not made up of 70% fire. Please practice what we truly are
Should have been on her hip. Usually when you carry a firearm, you want it as close to you as possible. You have more control over it that way.

I neither fear, nor despise.
Do you think perhaps, it being in a purse full of junk, that may have turned the safety off?
Or the kid could have on accident.

This is not the greatest sig in the world, no. This is just a tribute.

purse based carry is pretty common, actually. Fitting into a small handbag is often used as a selling point of compact handguns to women.
I dislike the idea though, between the chances of you purse being snatched or you just setting it down without realizing it, there's too many ways to lose accountability of your weapon.

It's unfortunate, but it's just another incident of shitty gun ownership and shitty parenting. I don't feel bad.

It's what she gets for carrying not on her person.  It just goes to show how stupid purse carrying is when a 2 year old steals your own gun and kills you with it.

I'm a little concerned about the people saying she should always have it on her. Do people really live in a constant state of fear that requires you to be armed at all times?

People wear seat belts every time they drive a car. Does that mean they live in fear or plan on getting into an accident?

That's because driving a car is dangerous. There's upwards of 30,000 accidents every day.

It's because it's the responsible thing to do, if this story and thinking wasn't enough.  Anti gun people moan about gun owners losing their guns and letting them fall into the wrong hands, but then try to act as if carrying it all times is the worst way to prevent that.  Could a toddler have unholstered her gun off her hip and shot her?  What if a mugger runs up and steals her purse?  What good is her gun then?  The sole intent of carrying a gun is for self defense and not having it on you means you can be pretty easily seperated from it.  Plus in an emergency having to dig through your purse is stupid.  Imagine police officers carrying their hand guns in back packs.  Just think of how silly that would be.

Yeah, well I don't own a fire extinguisher because I'm in constant fear of my house catching on fire.. it's just the smart thing to do.

If it's a Glock then the safety is near the trigger, and is designed so that you can quickly switch it off and fire.

His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The god of Ainu Mosir, Ae-Oine Kamuy, descendant of Okiku-Rumi, He perishes, a living corpse. The summers day, the white sunlight, unabrushed, ends simply through his breath alone.
Yeah, there are a lot of problems with keeping a gun in a purse. Too many variables that can turn it into a liability instead of an asset. Example being this.

poor analogy. If you carried the fire extinguisher with you everywhere you went, that would be closer.

Exactly!!.. because if I leave my gun at home and need it when I'm in town, its useless, right? While my fire extinguisher can stay at home where its actually needed. A murder can happen in a matter of seconds and it can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour for police to show up. By then, the victim has been robbed, kidnapped or murdered and the suspect/criminal has been gone for 10 minutes.

Why the hell does she have it in her purse? If she's getting robbed isn't that what they're going to try and take?

Also why was the safety not on?

"flaming nipple chops"-Your host, the man they call Ghost.

To say, 'nothing is true', is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say, 'everything is permitted', is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic.
I'm more impressed that a 2 year old managed to pull off a kill with a single shot from a low caliber handgun.

Hayden, Idaho isn't a scary city, though. Low crime rate, mostly white people with a small population of hispanic, decently educated, above-average income. No need to be strapped when you hit up Wal-Mart.
