I've been saying that this is the right direction to go for some time, but for different reasons.I believe that marriage is a religious construct which has no place in a properly separated government.The reason gay marriage was made illegal in the first place was because straight men were abusing it to get legal benefits, however the exact same happens between a man and a woman who are not actually interested in each other.If marriage is part of your religion, that's fine and dandy, but it doesn't belong in our government.
