Why does my profile picture get upscaled?

It goes from 86px × 250px to 129px × 375px.
It makes the picture too big.

Is there a minimum width limit?

There is a maxmum size, I've never seen images getting upscaled though.

I dunno. I just  edit mine to 300 x 300

I want it smaller, not bigger, it certainly isn't over the size limit.
I think there is a minimum width limit of 129px.

Hmm...
Yeah, your image will be upscaled or downscaled to fit the width of the avatar box (whatever that might be, since it is relative).

If you'd like to fix this, you can add transparent pixels around the image so that it isn't upscaled as much.

Thought so, I just edited the image a bit, it isn't too bad now.
