We should really consider adding a Destiny board

I know that they were the cancer of b.net, but they were so much fun to watch. Browsing #destiny was like watching a train wreck, except the wreck went on for years and the conductor kept on throwing gasoline on the rising flames.

That's what the gaming board is for, isn't it? We aren't Bungie.net, where the community is centered around a series of games released by a single developer. I'm afraid that making a board about a single game would be a waste of time since I don't think there's enough of a desire to support one.

Flood is our designated shitting street, anyway. Throw a hashtag and blinding white lights on it and you likely wouldn't know the difference.

I honestly don't get all the hate b.lind got. It wasn't any more white than Twitter or Reddit. It just wasn't what people were used to.

EDIT: I should specify that the brightness is what I didn't mind. In most every other sense the updates were more or less the Armenian Genocide.

It was more the ugly-ass UI for me. And the glitchy interface. And the destruction of private groups and scripts, e.g. Coup.

They killed private groups, which is where a good chunk of the old-time members lurked when not browsing the main forums. The moderation team either became uncaring towards problems (Achronos, Foman, OPR) or they became blind with power and tried to create an echo chamber for their views (Dazarobbo). The latter going so far as to shadow ban me for a dissenting opinion.

The community also suffered from all the new members refusing to adapt to the old guard's culture and caused a significant rift. Title bars (which showed tenure, seniority, and people's place in the community) were replaced with just some number of your account creation year which means fuck all if you don't actually contribute. There was no one killing factor but a myriad of problems that caused the death of the Septagon community with Bungie.

It just wasn't what people were used to.

The b.linding didn't really bother me, it's just one of the most defining examples of the change.
