I've noticed that you can call out staff but not members.... That's stupid. Staff are still members of the site. They just have tools to enforce the rules. That's really it.

I think it should be changed to "Calling out members in a malicious or deregotary manner is forbidden", so that it's clearer that it's only a problem if the person being called out finds it one. I've been "called out" before, but I didn't mind.

It wasn't done for you deci, it was done because of the incessant flamewars that people liked to start with each other. It's also common sense to not let a thread like X User is a FUCKING FAGGOT GOD DAMN™ fly.

Generally if a thread is calling someone out and it seems to be joking, I'll wait and see if the user in question reports it. If they do, it'll get locked without question but more often than not people have the maturity to not just scream and cry at being called out in a bit of brash humour.

Staff also generally don't care about being called out because if they couldn't handle a bit of PSYCHOLOGY IS A PSEUDOSCIENCE/YOUR WAIFU IS SHIT/KILL YOURSELF YOU GOD DAMN KIKE  then I doubt they'd make good or even passable staff members.

I thought the calling out rule was put into place because of Kinder

It was the Kinder, Comms, Noelle triumvirate

I remember Noelle having a few call out threads, but not in any negative manner. Kinder on the other hand was all about the to the death flame wars.

Yeah it was mainly to avoid the situation that shitted up the ProBoards forum

towards the end it was just non-stop calling each other out between those three

I wasn't on ProBoards so I guess I wouldn't know. But if there's one thing I gotta say, it's that the majority of some people's more malicious shenanigans were behind the scenes in PMs, skype, and outside the forum.

Then I guess the rule was reasonable then. The malicious shit should've stayed where it was instead of jumping into a fan.

But OT it's pretty obvious when a callout is in jest rather than to insult a person, so it's fine as it is.
