We could do that, but I don't think besides one or two cases everyone is going to go about and use the silliest unicode characters they can find. Also it's quite easy to limit usernames to English characters, some symbols and numbers. However, it's not warranted... Yet.

I think it's okay to have diacritics and Japanese character and shit, but allowing weeaboo emoticons to fit in your username is stupid and should probably end.
