someone explain to me the difference
Quote from: Verbatim on August 22, 2015, 10:03:48 PMsomeone explain to me the differencea connection to a website with https is encrypted with ssl, and the identity of the server is verifiable, meaning that it's nearly impossible for a man in the middle attack to occur. (That's when an attacker intercepts your connection to the website to either sniff data like passwords or change the look of the website all together to get you to do something you shoudlnt). edit. well I shouldn't say encrypted with ssl because it isn't actually a cipher itself and there's a bunch of different ways to encrypt traffic securely, but that's the gist of it

Bluehost charges for use of https on each domain name (I think). If we bought that feature, we could use it, but unless we also paid for someone to sign a certificate for us, that warning would pop up telling you the site was using an unsigned and unmonitored secure connection.

yeah how much is it you kike
Fuck I'll do it tomorrow. Let me set up a paypal.

Oh, and there is nothing stopping everyone from sending reset emails to users because you can just enter the username of the user, Lol.I'll prove it to you right now by using you as an example. That kind of shit should be email only honestly.Edit: You should get an email now requesting you to reset your password. See what I mean?

The passwords are hashed and cannot be read or decrypted unless you used a really short word without numbers or special characters that has that particular hash indexed.Really, if your password isn't stupidly simple, the only way you're going to run into trouble is if your connection is compromised (password-free wi-fi would be the most vulnerable).

It's plain-text at that point, so a dickbag could be listening in and intercept the password field you submitted before it's hashed and then compared to the saved password hash.

How do dickbags do that exactly? CMD? A hacktool?

If you're on your phone and connecting via LTE or 4G and don't have your phone infected to hell with malware, you've got nothing to worry about.
