Why do people do this? It is actually very confusing and I end up looking like a total jackass after my reply in whatever the original topic was, or if its a topic I didn't reply to and first reply talks about me, I'm already lost.

Looking up in the address bar I can see the original title, but how was I suppose to know that's what it was? I got really confused when I replied and now I'm honestly just irritated by this point. Why can't people just have 1 topic for one thread and not change the topic to something completely irrelevant later?

Am I alone in this? Its kind of a problem tbqh.

Very close.

The average thread page takes 2.3-2.7 MB of downstream data to load, provided there is only text on the page.

However, most of that is the page template loading, which only exists a single time on the server.

The real figure, in server space per thread, is a couple of kilobytes.
