"LOL" in Serious

Just wondering why this is still an acceptable response. Nearly any thread that isn't a lazy copy and paste news article gets this response from one or more of a few specific members. I didn't know if there was an actual reason why this is never addressed by moderation, or if they just get a pass for being old members.

Now, I don't really go to Serious, but I would say that it's probably not hurting discussion, if you just ignore it.

It's been overlooked for a while now, pretty much since serious started. When it is used properly, it's fine in my opinion. Someone states a laughable opinion - people laugh.

What I don't think ought to be allowed is the ones I suspect you are referring to, where an OP with a fair amount of original thought gets the reply of LOL and LOL and LOL etc.
So the shitposting in serious rule is a thing already, I suspect those posts can be cleaned up in the future. It's best to report them, then the mods will go over it and figure out if it's detracting/shitposting instead of a reasonable reply.

I don't really think that's the case; meta is frequently expressing conservative opinions and not getting shot down, as I understand it Turkey is also conservative and he's not being hounded out by a rabid band of lefties.
Look also at the general views on things like Israel/Palestine, Feminism, SJWs, Islam and Racism/related issues and try and say that there is a left wing bias, because I'm really not seeing one.

I hear this from certain people quite often and it's really tiresome because it never comes with actual evidence of a circle jerk of liberals, so prove that wrong and link some if you would.

He trolls a lot but most of his Serious threads are different, and are more like him trying to reason out thoughts and ideas on politics, math, and philosophy. All you do is discourage it, and I'd wager not being treated respectfully is a cause of a lot of his trolling. How does a single person posting a three letter response discourage the rest of this forum from posting in those threads? If anything discourages posting in that forum are people like Dustin.

They also don't take Dustin seriously which is why he has all these troll threads in that forum and which is also why DigitalIzesty has all these locked threads in the Flood. The real problem are the mods and Cheat doing nothing about these troll and target threads that those two make. Instead of doing anything about it they just lock the threads which is still giving them the attention they want.
