One could argue that a certain degree may be easier to get a job with than another (looking at you, arts majors), but at the end of the day the key things an employer will look for are applicable skills. Socialization and Networking are two of the most important things you could ever focus on, having friends will beat out having a degree any day of the week, and that's not even a byproduct of the modern job market either. It's been that way for ages, you get successful by surrounding yourself with successful people, and making it seem like you belong there just as much as anyone else.

Of course, that's not to say that a Masters in your preferred field wont help, but dedication as a person (not just as a student) to your work is what will really make you unique in the eyes of prospective employers.
