I haven't necessarily denounced the existence of God completely, but I've accepted a more deistic view
Also, becoming a vegetarian 3 months ago

I for one never really had any problems with elegiac and actually enjoyed his presence sometimes. He was a little weird, sure, but his eccentricity kept things interesting around here

ideally this will happen within the next 10-20 years. the negative stigma that surrounds cannabis is slowly dying now that we're learning more and more about it everyday.
i think with proper labeling requirements and regulations, it's a very real possibility that cannabis and alcohol will be treated pretty much equally. caffeine is a different story.

"god has a plan for them" really fucking irritates me
But He does
but how do you know that?
Because God has a plan for everybody
but how do you know that?
Because He does
seems like your faith is highly irrational, bud

Everything does happen for a reason, if it didn't then nothing would ever manifest into being.
I don't see how any of that requires some sentient force orchestrating it all, however. Cause and effect is purely cause and effect.
Where is this supernatural "reason," ya know?
As I said, I don't see how one is required.
i mean, i agree that it isn't really required, and pondering common platitudes that have stood the test of time isn't necessarily productive, but i feel like people should know why what they're saying is senseless

like verby said, there's an underlying implication that it's a good reason. what I'm saying is that, how are we supposed to even know what these reasons are? cause and effect can only do so much. For example, i have a dog that accidentally eats too much chocolate and dies. The cause is consuming the chocolate, and the effect is death. Where is this supernatural "reason," ya know?

i can't be the only one who instantly gets annoyed at people when they say shit like this. it's such a half-assed way to get someone to feel better, and it's even worse when the person agrees with them discuss widely popular sayings that are complete bullshit
