I feel like some of you people talk trash about fast food with no real basis. And I bet the same people eat fast food all the time. I mean dang son, I prepare most of my meals or have it home cooked but I know some fast food out there is pretty good.

Which do you choose? I'd choose sonic because their menu is so diverse. Also it has to be a national chain.

When I was a little kid I envisioned my future as being in my mid 20's. I'm still not in my mid 20's, but I'm 21 so I don't have long.
I never thought of myself doing anything weird. I used to want to move to Japan to work on anime but I'm pursuing applied science as opposed to art. I still haven't reached that age. 432

Well, this discussion might be out of my league as I have no knowledge or background in advance philosophy. You should make that post on epistemology. It'll open a lot of eyes. But the fact that we can debate mortality inherently means it can't be objective"I'm a Christian Chemist, and I don't think water is made of two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen because God made water before stars, and it would be Biblically inelegant." 434

But yeah you're right a dirty calorie doesn't necessarily exist, but you can get calories from dirty food. Like I always factor in other things like carbs, fats, and proteins. But I'll still eat some sweets every now and then.calories in/calories outTrue say. Although I'm trying to make sure my caloric intake isn't due to just dirty calories, and I need to improve the speed of weight gain. I've been stuck at this weight for a while. 435
Serious / Re: Is morality objective?« on: September 09, 2015, 02:11:30 PM »I don't see the relevance of ontology on this subject though. Whether something is objective or not can be defined by epistemological concepts and are usually absolute. Ontology can probably be valid in discussing the observable, but when discussing conceptual things like morality I don't see why it needs to be addressed. Although if you can correct me please do.No morality is not objective. Morality is derived from human emotion and is subject to different standards in different cultures, thus making it inherently subjective."Near Death Experiences are derived wholly from human experience, and are subject to different characteristics in different cultures, thus making it impossible for us to talk about NDEs objectively." But the fact that we can debate mortality inherently means it can't be objective, since something that's objective retains this state independent of any bias. 436
The Flood / Re: Just heard a kid with a fedora say "M'lady"« on: September 09, 2015, 02:01:51 PM »
There was this hilarious Asian kid who used to live in the dorm close to mine, and in the food hall he would always come in talking or laughing loudly. He's a really nice dude who I think has autism or something.
Anyway the funny part is that he would always approach and hit on girls, balls of steel on this guy. He would talk loud and tell some kind of joke, and then he'd end up laughing so loud you could hear him across the food hall. He was in my cal III class. 437

Mechanical engineering. I plan to join the Air Force as an officer and get an engineering position. This way I'll get good experience in addition to military benefits, and if I choose after my obligated four years I'll work for a privatized firm.

The Flood / What's the longest you've gone without sleep?« on: September 08, 2015, 08:26:13 PM »
So I got literally no sleep last night and today has been one of my busiest days in a while. I had to go to work at 8 AM, then got off at 1, then had school at 1:40 and we did a lab until 4:15, and then at 4:30 I had a test which I pretty much aced with little prep time, then I had another lab at 6 that just ended. All. Without. Sleep. I grind hard.
Anyway what's the longest you've gone without sleep? I think I pulled off two days once during finals week. 445

Serious / Re: Did the Cold War advance us as a species?« on: September 08, 2015, 04:04:32 AM »
Sounds like you're measuring the success of the species based on space exploration. While it's a great feat, it's not really a relevant measure of technological success. Also there wasn't much peace post Cold War, we jumped right back into conflict in the early 90's, and that's just the U.S. On a global scale peace hasn't been achieved in a while.
War is a good means of innovation because you're forced to innovate, or you lose to the enemy. But I'd rather economic competition instead of the fear of death be the means in which technology professes. In regards to space exploration, you'd be better off waiting for more advanced propulsion and material technology to be made in the private sector. 449
