but it places the burden instead on someone for something they had no control over.
Women have no control over getting pregnant?
They don't have control over being a woman in their 20's, a demographic that is likely to get pregnant.

It's more of a medical background check than a psych eval prior to an interview. It's a tricky one because it can fall under discrimination laws if a business snubs a candidate because they were unwell in their past but I can't say that it's wrong to not employ someone if they have a history of instability. Ultimately the business needs a worker who is reliable and isn't going to go postal on them.
Isn't that similar to businesses not hiring women in fear of them soon going on maternity leave? By reason it is a legitimate concern from the company's perspective, but it places the burden instead on someone for something they had no control over.

Is there a rhytmn hidden in there or something?
I mean if I want music that masks tinnitus I'll just listen to drone, or if I just want white noise I'll listen to a white noise video on youtube.

Dark Souls because I have a hard-on for tragedy.
Next would be Mass-Effect or Elder Scrolls because I've always adored the concept of multiple intelligent races living side by side.

« on: June 01, 2015, 01:34:01 AM »
I consider marriage to be an economic union between two people that often entails codependency or other sharing of property and finances. Compared to the definitions you listed, mine seems to better address why marriages are afforded many rights that couples who aren't married aren't, and also why things become more complicated with polygamy.

Watched it before.
It's obvious the mother is manipulative and possibly abusive, but we should also pay attention to the dad a bit here too. A kid doesn't just come up with this script on his own and it's obvious his dad had some collaboration and coaching before this went down. I'm not saying the kid doesn't want to be with the dad instead, but the dad's probably being manipulative to some degree too. Also I don't think there's any point for him to publish this video, it's being taken for liability and whatnot, not so we can all revel in it online.

I'd advise watching the RLM reviews first.
or even better watch the nostalgia critic videos of it and then the rlm videos to help you realize the difference between people who say they're okay and who say they're awful

They should be Medics
Spoiler

The satire is noted. But holy shit being a medic in the military would blow. You want to talk about painting a target on somebody?
There are a lot more important people to be shooting than medics. If someone is dying they're not going back into fighting.

The hunting for food argument isn't sound. No one in a first world nation is hunting something for the purpose of food, there are easier and cheaper and faster ways for them to attain food. Food is just a byproduct of them hunting the animals for sport. When these people who get their own venison and whatever talk down to sports hunters for "wasting" things, they're just trying to feel above someone. That said it doesn't really matter all that much why someone hunts, animals are still killed. I'm not going to argue for the rights of wild animals or anything, but ecologically speaking hunting does serve many purposes, at least in North America. States keep track of populations and set game limits for reasons, they are managing game populations, and hunters are amazing contributors to this conservation effort.

Serious / Re: Struggles of an Addictive Personality
« on: May 31, 2015, 12:03:24 AM »
That's all I really have. I'm one of the most depressed people I know, and I've never, ever thought for even a single moment to ever use drugs, and I have a burning contempt for those who do. Why I happen to be an "exception", I don't know. It's all very frustrating and confusing. But yeah, that's essentially what I meant when I said I knew that feeling. I haven't answered your question fully, because I can't, really. And that part's frustrating, too. I've lashed out at countless people for indulging in various substances--even weed--because I value so much our capacity to be sober. Our capacity to be in total control of our faculties. That's the part I will never understand: Your brain is the most important organ in your body. Why in the fuck would you EVER fuck with it?

But what I've learned is that not everybody values their agency as much as I do.
I think they're fucking idiots, but I guess that's just the truth of the matter.
You don't see the same thing in others because not many people have such hardline values when they're options in life are put through the filter of depression. I'm pretty fucking nihilistic and depressed and avoid drugs because I know they work too well for me and I enjoy incapacitating myself too much. What value is my agency if it seems I'm not ever going to use it to satisfy myself? If being sober doesn't compel me to live, tell me what should compel me to avoid drugs?

The worse part is nothing traumatic actually ever happened to her to trigger it. She just didn't take her parent's divorce very well, and her dad was a sleeze ball.
that sounds like an event that can be emotionally traumatizing.

Slut-shaming hurts the slut, yo.  Duh.
no pain is inflicted when a slut is disparaged for being a slut

and if it was, where would you draw the line

is calling someone an idiot "idiot-shaming"? should we ban that, too?
or maybe you think all insults should be banned
no one banned slut shaming

« on: May 30, 2015, 04:28:18 AM »
Except your chances of getting in both a fiery crash AND trapped where you can't get out of the vehicle is stupidly low. As in you shouldn't even think it's gonna happen to you kinda low, and if it does you're one unlucky motherfucker.

Driving is fine. If you're a pussy then sure you have reason to fear it.

Otherwise, unless you're a retard like Verb or Jim, you should have no fears about driving at all.
3000 people die every day because of car accidents.
how many people drive a car in a day

That said the internet / world is not going to change for peoples feelings. If someone can't take the heat they really should know better and avoid the kitchen. There's better things to do with your time if you're depressed.
When you're depressed it's tiresome to do anything, and the further you have to look to find an environment not too harsh for you the more futile things eventually seem. You have to realize that for kids with no real friends or positive peer groups, the internet IS their only refuge from either loneliness or bullying.

Technically the act of having a dick pretty much makes someone male therefor yes but you obviously find many feminine traits attractive too so I think it's fair to say maybe.
