I never understood why they don't just mirror the map for each team
They tried and they'd have to redo the art because the map is made to be seen from a certain direction and looks weird as fuck from the opposite.
In Dota the concept is more compelling because the engine is more flexible but in league they can't even change an attack speed value without fucking up the code base.
In the end they just decided to put the higher MMR team on the lower winrate side.

It's surprising how common it is. Even Elite Athletes have a significant difference in pay/prize money in their corresponding sports/events. The World 24 Hour MTB Enduro championships had something like $5,000 for the winner of the Elite Women's event, and $15,000+ for the Men in 2012. It might've changed by now but I doubt it, but is there really anything we can do about the issue in general?
athletics are a distinctly different market. Men's competitions are undeniably more competitive and garner greater revenue

I believe that if a child is going to be born, it has roughly an equal chance of having a good life as there is for it to have a shitty life, and it should be up to the parents/guardians (for the most part) to mold their experience.
The presence of pain is bad. The absence of pleasure is bad. The presence of pain is inherent to being alive. The absence of pleasure can not be noticed if no one is there to feel deprived. It is a pretty dick move to make that decision for someone.

In most games your ability to combat enemies isn't progressively built. In MOBAs, when you fall behind, you lose the ability to do a lot of things. Because everyone loves being able to kill shit, people get frustrated by that, and especially when they're going to be waiting another 20-40 minutes before their next game.
You see similar levels of rage and saltiness in any other game with actual consequences to mistakes and long set-up times like WoW, Eve, etc.
