And I don't think there's anything wrong with a cure to dysphoria, I just don't know why you hate treating it when a cure doesn't exist. Except it's not being treated. They're just being pandered to.
We hardly even understand the true nature of it still, and until we do it's going to be hard to find any sort of answer. It is being treated, trans people still suffering depressive moods and attempting suicide is like people succumbing to illness during chemotherapy and dying. When you choose to enter treatment there is an acknowledgement of risk that it won't work out perfectly, but both patient and professional decide that the risk is less than if the patient remained where they were. Which in the trans case, is incredibly depressed and contemplating suicide. I seriously don't understand the position of "we're just doing things to make them happy", as if it has any sort of meaning in this conversation. Yes it's hardly a solution and yes it's flawed. That doesn't give any reason to abandon the practice because as of right now it's the only option people with the disorder have other than "fuck you, suck it up, chug these anti-depressants". Everything else you say makes sense to me and I agree, a cure would be nice, dysphoria isn't something good to have. But it only looks like you hate letting people transition because of your own phobias.

But generally speaking, if you're playing an RPG, and the game asks you, "are you a boy or are you a girl," I just prefer to, you know, tell the truth.

By cure he means seeking mental help to solve their disorder rather than giving into it. He's basically saying instead of society accepting it we should discourage it so these people get mental help for this disorder.
