I don't want to live in a world where Angry Joe is the top youtube gaming "critic" because the guy who is actually competent, intelligent, and able to produce worthwhile lectures on the state of the industry as well as give inside looks as to how it works died of liver cancer.

What's wrong with Joe, though?

His rants aren't great but his reviews are quite good, IMO.
He's like the Nostalgia Critic of gaming.

What should you reply with when asked your weaknesses?

I get that you should try to cast yourself in a good light but at the same time I don't want to seem like a douchebag by saying 'I work too hard' or what Verbatim said.
Something similar to "I have an awful memory, but that's why I keep a written schedule with me."

of course you can make a second skype

when asked for your weaknesses, don't describe yourself as a perfectionist
+ use it as an opportunity to describe how you overcome that weakness, use specific examples

I think a lot of people will be quick to claim that they are being censored or persecuted by PCness just because their ignorant ideas don't hold up to criticism and reason. I've seen so many puffin memers on imgur or reddit that don't even seem to know that trans people take hormones and get mad when someone bursts their bubble that a transwoman joining womens' sports isn't some roided up dudebro or that a transman would effectively be a roided up dudebro in a womens' sport if they were forced to participate strictly according to sex. Just the lack of care they seem to have regarding the simplest of research or reasoning kind of demonstrates they're only thinking in accordance to their bigotry rather than some legit ideas.

And censorship isn't relevant unless it involves government or illegal activities. If society wants to shut out a retarded, ignorant perspective, then I say go ahead.

Murder. The instant after replication the body experiences different stimuli that the chip has not, therefor the two are measurably different in memory and thought.
Nobody with the chip finds out they have one until it gets pointed out or they discoverer it. None of the adults knew about it until Nova went public about it and showed them what the chip looks like and told them what happens. When they get the chip it's as if nothing happened at all to the body. Their memories, thought processes and personalty are exactly the same before and after the chip.
Yes but the environment the brain is in and the chip is in are distinctly different which gives rise to difference on both a molecular level and with enough time in their personality.

Murder. The instant after replication the body experiences different stimuli that mind in the incubator has not, therefor the two are measurably different in memory and thought.

Even if you isolated the two minds in identical environments, the randomness of things on a quantum level would make them demonstrably different and with enough time would leave them completely distinct.

Had no idea trannie was now offensive, thought it was just a shortening of transgender.
To some it'd be like saying "blacky". Just context IMO. I say it.

How can you keep all 50 states teaching the same curriculum if you remove the DoE's ability to do so?
Not sure, and that's certainly an important question, but I think it's a mis-characterisation to say this is a likely outcome of his policy.

Nevertheless, I'm more concerned about his balanced budget amendment. Now that is fucking dumb.
I don't think you understand how hard American Christians fight to teach their beliefs in public schools.
I don't think you understand how little it matters in the face of economy and geopolitics.
Except I'm not talking about economics and geopolitics, I'm specifically talking about his position on the Department of Education.
I just don't think it's a big deal. Evolutionary biology and astrophysics, which you implied were your main concerns, are not a big deal. I'd be more worried about making sure the more practical STEM and health realms are being adequately taught. Creationism vs scientific origin isn't worth worrying about.
pfft what
creationist ideology actively works against the studies of geology and biology
Try explaining why vaccines are a necessity without at some point mentioning how pathogens evolve.
Try illustrating that carbon emissions are damaging the environment without recognizing that the Earth is more than a few thousand years old.

There is most definitely a distinct middle-eastern race, it's just not everyone there is it. It's like saying Hispanics aren't a distinct racial group because they can look really white or white people can look really hispanic.

College is a weird conundrum.
On one hand you aren't wasting your life doing a 7 hour work day that is worthless, but on the other hand you suddenly have to spend your time wisely.

I've had a few, but Burnout Paradise is the first one that comes to mind. Hated the demo, rented the full game and hated that too, but tried it again a few months later with an open mind and fell in love. I've put in over 100 hours into that game. I mostly have game completion aside from some online Achievements and challenges.
That game was probably my best matchmaking experience, would make friends every day there.

1. Lazy narrative style, no thanks, create the story through the game, not just a paper presentation.
2. Yes, especially if to get them you have to adopt a strange playstyle or do something you don't usually do, and getting them makes a noticeable mark on the game (cosmetic, mechanics) rather than just sitting in a trophy collection.
3. A story without good gameplay is a shitty game. A game without a good story is still an effective game.
4. Something that distinguishes the game from the rest of my library. I'm not going to spend money on generic sidescroller #201, I'll spend money on "that game with the cool play to the rhythm of the music mechanic", even if the gimmick is effective or not, the experimental gameplay mechanic gives the game more value than a mediocre and functioning game that has already been made.
5. Consistent with itself, not trying to imitate popular styles (looking at vector), and not using music that tries to be big or is basically generic movie soundtrack. TBH the industry has forgotten that making a lack of music replaced by good sound design and clarity makes what music you do use more impactful.

I agree with most points. Bar the first. You just assumed the narrative would be lazy. There are countless examples where this is not the case, probably the best being Braid. The perfect integration of narrative and gameplay. Or even skyrim, the hunt for books and reading them at your own lesiure, or simply in the loading screens reading some trivia.
Text/narrative in a game =/= lazy narrative
Well yeah for peripheral lore, I'm talking the primary plot.

just gonna leave this here

I don't have to pay for other peoples guns.

Why should I have to pay for other peoples hospital bills if I haven't been in a hospital since my child was born?

Socialism is retarded.
It's literally like car insurance you idiot. You have to pay a penalty if you don't have insurance for your car. It's a simple tax that provides a right for everyone. Stop buying into people who are behind literally the rest of the developed world.
"europeans are doing it, so we should too!"
"Other people have developed a successful system, so we should too!"
To be fair America has some distinct problems from Europe, specifically gang culture and the criminality the drug war has produced.
And this has nothing to do with implementing universal healthcare
was thinking guns mabad

The Flood / Re: Who has the better singing voice, men or women?
« on: October 17, 2015, 03:34:47 PM »
In classical settings both have equal merits, although men can hit most of womens' ranges while virtually no women can cover the low ranges of men. In a non-classical setting women kind of shoe-horn themselves into a narrow zone of genres which makes them all sound the same, but I think if that weren't the case then we'd some interesting variety from them too.
