Sucks for you. I don't really think I'm allergic to anything.

What do you plan to do as a meat substitute? Fish or tofu or something?

I can still eat poultry and fish just fine, and tofu is kind of gross unless you know how to cook it properly.

He's always had that. Are you from the Berenstein dimension?

Yes, and in that world Mandela died in prison.

I guess you could site yourself, but it wouldn't make much sense to the professor unless it was a previous paper submitted to that them specifically, or if you were a published writer then it would make sense... but as far as college academics it's something you could avoid.

Squirrel ain't bad.
They ain't much, but you get enough of em and they make for a nice stew. Kinda like wild rabbit.

Peepaw used to grill em up real nice. Used this fancy shit called "seasoning".

Eh you still got birds, fish, seafood, snake, gator, squirrel, and so on. It sucks but at least you don't have to really be vegetarian.

Chicken sausages are good.

don't tell me... you eat squirrel?!

ewww I will stick to chicken and fish.
I'm just suggesting meat a trump voter would enjoy

Oh so this is my punishment for voting for Trump. I should have known!

Fake meat? That stuff is pretty good, an acceptable substitute.

There are no acceptable substitutes for a good steak.

You are so right!

Do you know what exactly in the meat that you're allergic to? Any specific protein?

Some people are allergic to casein in milk and it leads to them mistakenly believing they're lactose-intolerant.

Also, welcome to my diet. Birds and fish are the only meats I eat.

I'm most allergic to pork, then lamb, and then beef. It could be the alpha-gal that I could be allergic to, but I have not been bit by any ticks in over 10 years. It could also be related to my cat allergy that I found out that I have. I'm never sniffly/sneezy/itchy around cats, so I was surprised to find out how bad of an allergic reason I had to cats. It's called the Pork-cat syndrome and basically affects women in their late twenties who are allergic to cats. It can get so bad eating pork can kill you like a peanut allergy. I really hope I don't have that lol

Plus, you can always have fried fish or shrimp.

That is true. I guess I lucked out especially since I don't think I'm gluten intolerant. If I'm both that's going to suck hard. It's easier to avoid beef and pork than it is to avoid wheat, barley, and rye.

Just go buy an epipen and then stuff your face

It destroys my stomach and makes me really sick. I had beef tacos last night (I even used gluten free tortillas) and it was terrible. I have to finish up what groceries we have left, because I don't want to waste it, but damn that was horrible.

Plus epipens are like $400 a piece!

The Flood / AMA Allergic to meat??
« on: December 13, 2016, 08:06:31 AM »

Found out I'm most likely not gluten intolerant (I find out for sure on Thursday) but instead I'm allergic to pork, beef, and lamb.

Guess who's got to be semi-vegetarian from now until forever? This chick.

Getting stabbed with 100 needles in your back is NOT fun.

The allergen specialist was really excited to see that allergic reaction on my back too. He said it was rare to be allergic to meat, and now I'm a special snowflake. fml.

All in all I guess it's better for my health (despite the allergy) to avoid red meats and pork. It's just not as tasty of a life without them. RIP bi-monthly steak dinners. RIP freshly made pork ramen. RIP delicious Gyros.

« on: December 04, 2016, 07:20:12 AM »
I am so sorry you're going through this. It's not fair to you that they are doing this to you. There is a reason you were brought back to life, but you just haven't found it yet. Maybe you haven't been looking hard enough. I'm glad that your friend missed, but that also shows that they wanted to still live even if they deny it. You have been through a lot and it's very traumatic, especially being in debt that much it's hard to get out of it, but it's not impossible. You have the rest of your life to better your situation and find new people to be around who are positive influences. It may seem like it's impossible, but you really are the only one holding yourself back from happiness. Unfortunately it does seem that your depression is genetic (my family is genetically bipolar, so I understand that), and you're right about the medicine making it worse, but you're wrong about the talking about it part. If you talk about your problems it lifts a weight from your shoulders even the smallest amount helps. Not everyone can easily open up, but sometimes you have to bite the bullet in order to save your own life by talking about things that are WAY out of your comfort zone, and to a stranger at that. Professionals are there to help you and not to judge you; however, you did say that you don't have insurance and that's a problem. There are free state funded counselors out there and there is always the suicide prevention hotline and their chat room. I hope that you find peace in this tragic moment of your life, but NEVER let go of those fleeting moments of happiness cherish them as if they were the most valuable thing in life, because they are. <3
