I learned a bit about how 3D printing has actually improved the quality of collectables like these. Back in the day there was most likely not a readily available compatible computer 3D graphic design that the toy companies could utilize in creating the toys, so instead they would make their own, and this is why the older collectables sometimes look like trash. A lot of movies now use 3D printing to create components of their sets like in starwars and most of their ships, and toy companies can buy the rights to these computer graphic designs for their toys. This becoming epic toys and not trash.
Yeah, Lucasfilm actually gave Anovos the 3D model used to create the Stormtrooper armor in the new movie, and now they're going to sell replica First Order Trooper helmets.
That's badass! Although, imo the fans have been rather creative and inventive all on their own and have created some fantastic Storm Trooper armor and helmets.

A few weeks ago my sisters went to a nearby city and had photos taken with a bunch of people cosplaying as stormtroopers (there was a regular one, an AT-AT pilot and a black stormtrooper, from what I remember). They looked exactly like the ones from the movies.
Yeah the numbers of Storm Troopers at DragonCon has diminished greatly imo, because when I first started going almost 10 years ago everyone was a Storm Trooper, like even the children! This year I saw some very well done brony-Storm Trooper mashups. I would expect that to come out looking like shit but I was very impressed with what I saw

You can dual run the OS's and switch back and forth between them. I'm not sure what kind of computer you have, but I would recommend putting the Linux on an external hard drive. I actually put it on a Usb flash drive when I had it on my Chromebook laptop.
Edit: there is also an ubuntu forum that was really helpful to me.

I dislike thinking about the past since it mostly sucked, pretty much every birthday since I was 19 has been drinking and drugs. Can't do that anymore for my 24th birthday with my job now. Well at least you had some "fun". Being an adult is strange. Like I noticed a difference with this year. I got most of my presents before my birthday for DragonCon, but the thing that threw me off was we all began cutting into the cake, and it dawned on me, but I laughed it off and said "isn't it bad luck to cut the cake before we sing happy birthday?" And immediately everyone started singing the song while stiffening their laughter. It's a bittersweet release into adulthood. I always wanted to be a psychologist, but now I'm more interested in to computer sciences. >.> go figure.
