Your older cat will eventually get use to the new one. Usually what you'd want to do is separate the two by a door so that the older one can get use to the newer one via smell before the actually get to see each other.
Yeah the only thing we're worried about is our older cat started spraying after my husband accidentally brought clothes from his parent's house to our apartment that his old cat had peed on without us realizing. So we're worried that the spraying will get worse and that if we keep this kitten it too will learn to spray. Sounds like a piss nightmare to me, but in light of this... I put one of the shirts that smells slightly like cat pee with the kitten in hopes Athena will accept the kitten as her pee spawn.

I was minding my own business taking my dog outside to the dog park next to my apartment building and all of a sudden I hear a kitten crying. I walked over to this bush look underneath it and this kitten just walks up to me crying. I picked it up not knowing what to do. I looked around for other cats or kittens thinking maybe I had stumbled upon a cat's litter, but no there was just the kitten. I went to the store and bought him kitten food and kitten milk. My dog seems to like him so far, but my cat Athena keeps hissing at him. I'm not sure if I can or am going to keep him, but I just wanted to share this ultimate cuteness. Today is my 3rd day without cigarettes and the universe brought me a kitten. So it's been a good day. How's your day been?
