I wouldn't consider that "calling them out" I'm pretty sure that rule only applies to threads, and even then the rule has been rather lax recently.
Actually on second thought I am possibly the reason Elegiac doesn't really post anymore. I do not feel guilty.

He got angry at me for another member posting in a thread that no one liked him not even me, and then he went off and shared some personal information about me that I had shared with him in private message and asked him not to share. Mind you I had not commented once in said thread and had been offline. So I reported him to the mods and got him banned. Then I became a mod and he slowly but surely stopped posting.

A plethora of reasons.
Resources, fundamental differences in beliefs, etc.
And friends can fight. It's not black and white.
Friends can fight, and unfortunately friendships can end as a result even if the conflict gets too heated.
That's life though.
Then that makes life, and living as a whole, extremely shitty in my opinion.
Good friends worth having will make up with you after you've had a fight. If not then they're not worth your time anymore. That's adulthood and it sucks, but like you said in the other thread you have to make the most of your short life and not get wrapped up in such petty arguments. If someone is obviously trolling do not engage because you will not win.
