If you're going to offer us a position on the matter, you should at least have the intellectual integrity to support it. Not that your views are generally unknown here, but it would seem prudent to not offer your opinion on a discussion you don't want to have.
I was saying I would rather not because A) I would just be beating the same old drum beat you have all heard a thousand times from me and B) The topic of Israel makes my blood boil, it's an issue I'm deeply passionate about and while I'm currently still a mod it would be distasteful to lower myself into another slogging match. So yeah that's why I won't explain my position on it, but you're right you've all heard it before so keep it civil

Everyone hates their own voice being played back to them. I've been told it's due to recording distortion and the fact that we hear our voice fuller and deeper than others do because of resonance in our own head and whatnot, giving people the impression that what they're hearing is foreign, weird and not at all in line with the impression they have of themselves. It's science stuff.
A similar thing is applied with why people dislike photographs of themselves, it's to do with seeing your face in a mirror everyday, so when you see the 'correct' view of your face rather than the mirrored one it seems slightly wrong <.<

The majority of school shootings and such have been committed with firearms that are legally owned. I don't trust the average person to carry a gun.
The average gun owner isn't commiting mass shootings though, so I don't see the need for mistrust.

Instead of restricting your ever day gun owner why not ban or heavily restrict ownership to people with severe mental issues? Lets face it, why should somebody with severe depression or uncontrollable violent tendencies etc be allowed to walk into a gun store and walk out with a weapon that could maim or kill members of the general public? They shouldn't. Responsibility to the responsible.
