Gaming / EA vs COD
« on: May 19, 2015, 07:51:15 PM »
What do you think EA will do to try and beat COD this year? My money is on a Titan Fall sequel, simply because BlackOps 3 is continuing the the soft sci fi trend.

I don't know why they haven't given up because all their fps' are too busy trying to be COD that they ultimately come off as try hards.

So thoughts? TF? BF? I would have said BatlleFront but I'm hoping that it wont be BF: StarWars.

I was kinda disappointed. The way Angry Joe et al described it it was just an insane movie filled with action. Turns out the best bits were in the trailers -_-. Hate when that happens. Still a good movie but just not as awesome as everyone says. Better than Road Warrior though.

I'm hoping this game is like Fallout 2 where you say a lot of towns and developed areas like New Reno, that NCR place and Vault City which is a new city. It got old and boring seeing nothing but destroyed shit with hardly any settlements in Fallout 3 and NV. This game would probably be taking place 100 or so years after Fallout 1 so you're going to see some development.
I'd love a game set in California again, some time after the NCR tried to annex Vegas. It'd me interesting to see the NCR fracture.

I hope Obsidian are the ones making it.
I doubt it. But one can dream.

I'd love another NewVegas, not so much the local or story. But the setting, the atmosphere and the choice just made NewVegas a better game than Fallout 3. Just imagine what New Vegas could have been with a brand new engine and a current gen console?

Here's hoping Fallout 4 is in some sort of dry desert and not some dull grey city.
I thought it was going to take place in Boston?
Rumours. I'm hoping that we get more Mad Max instead of more Escape from New York. The desert just has more vibe when it comes to post apoc games.

So if it takes place in Boston... eh... not perfect but hey a new Fallout is a new Fallout! :)
i think a desert was a dumb setting for a post apocalyptic game, even though fallout 3 was bland I liked the ruined city more than some dusty desert.
>Dusty desert. Giant monsters, mutants, raiders, various settlements.

>Ruined city. 100s of inaccessible buildings, no atmosphere, not fun.
Fallout: NV had far more inaccessible buildings than Fallout 3. And Las Vegas was shit compared to Washington DC. Fallout 3 had tons more unmarked hidden locations than New Vegas did. If you wanted to really get the full Fallout 3 experience, you would have to go off the beaten path a *lot*.
Yeah but the Mojave was a better location that the Capital

I assume foxes are not endangered in the UK. Provided the resource is managed appropriately, I don't see an issue.
Because they aren't hunted with guns but with packs of dogs?

The difficulty is ultimately dependant on the player. There's times I've solo'd them and there's times where I just kept getting Smoughs hammer.

Healthcare is not a business though and that's why healthcare in America is utter bollocks.
Except US healthcare is, and always has been, heavily regulated and government-involved.
I think you misread. I'm saying that Healthcare should not be run like a business, and the fact that the US is is one of the biggest actors that makes it shit.

Fallout 3 also had mutants, raiders, "settlements", and giant monsters

Am I saying it was a better game? No. I'm saying that I think a city fits a post apocalyptic game.
I'm not opposed to some city. Maybe 25% of the map. But I don't want Fallout 3's DC maze. Small areas connected by underground railways. The DC ruins weren't all that interesting outside Rivet City and Necropolis.

I'm no expert, but Privatisation breeds competitiveness, leading to improvements and efficiency cuts (same quality, less price). That is so long as it's regulated so no one company gains a local or regional majority (see America's internet problems).

Nationalisation can be inefficient if there is no incentive to generate cuts or profit. For example, £4 Million pounds that goes to the NHS every year is fed into homeopathy (which is only backed by anecdotal evidence, NO SCIENCE WHATSOEVER). With privatisation there will still be Homeopathy clinics for idiots, but at least it's not government-backed or funded by taxpayers who may not believe in the healing qualities of a pseudo-science.
Healthcare is not a business though and that's why healthcare in America is utter bollocks.

The ones from bnet who claimed they don't show up because of me. Well were are they now?
Ehhh... dunno. Here?

I'm glad that Batch and Exodus showed up though.

I don't imagine they vocalize that often in the wild and it's obvious that it's no longer a panic expression, did they basically condition it to be vocal like that?
Hahaha... I imagine that fox kits would do a bit of chirping in the safety of the den.
They do. Foxes are pretty vocal and the kits are always chirping and yelping
