Gaming / Re: Press [F] to Pay Respects for Nintendo
« on: June 16, 2016, 05:14:50 PM »
Specs don't matter. I don't care about third party support either. However, I want a regular console. All Nintendo needs to do is launch a regular console with a regular controller. And have standard features. Let it play Blu-Ray/DVD. Have a good online system where we can play with friends and such. If they can do that. Then I'll buy it. And their games.

722
Year of The Dragon is objectively, the best Spyro. Fuck you all.

723
Seems like a whole lot of cinematic, well-written games that'll probably just end up being gritty third-person shooters between cutscenes.
Most aren't.

Spiderman is open world, Horizon is open world, The Last Guardian will be open like SoC, Days Gone is open world. The only one that may be some cinematic third person shooter is Kojima's game really.

unpopular opinion: I liked the new tomb raider games and think they're better than uncharted

But Ty, Uncharted is garbage.
What did you say boy?

You heard me.
Fight me.

Zelda is looking pretty cool. But durability? Eh

I never understood why people liked Spiderman 2 so much. I was much much younger when I played it, but still. Maybe I need to read up on it. The only ones I actually liked were Spiderman (the PS1 version) and Ultimate Spiderman. The one with comic book style looking graphics. And maybe Spiderman 2 Enter Electro on PS1.

728
Still don't know how I feel about these new consoles. Running games at 4K? Sure. But what about when it looks like this?

Also, I refuse to believe that the game will look like that. Kojima's game. His Fox Engine in MGSV looks great. Uncharted 4 looks even better. But Death Stranding is about 10 levels above that. No way the game will look as good as presented today.
duh
It was "in-engine" Real time. So, they're saying that's what the game looks like. Sometimes that turns out to be true... Other times not. We'll see.

All this sony fanboy hype really is something.
It was a good showing. Don't need to be a fanboy to see that.

Don't really like this Scorpio and Neo BS. Just read on GAF that there could be Scorpio "exclusives".

>gaf

i found your problem
Shannon Lofftis. "GM of Game publishing at MS" said that in an interview. Was on a thread on GAF. As I said, I'll just wait for someone to clarify that.

didn't they specifically say otherwise today?
They did. I'm waiting for someone to clarify this later on. It's bad enough games will probably look like absolute shit, unless I buy the new ones. But now, it seems you might not even be able to get all the games. Maybe. We'll see.

Dumb anime shit? Most of the stuff they show ISN'T dumb anime shit. We'll see how this year pans out. But MS didn't show much. Where's the new games? SoD 2 is looking good. Sea of Thieves was announced last year, and I wouldn't even call whatever that was today a gameplay trailer. Most of the rest is stuff I can play on my PS4 or PC. Now Sony, they have a lot of studios working on stuff. No excuse for them to not destroy Microsoft and unveil a ton of shit.

741
Not a bad episode.

Here's what we've been waiting for though.

there are people on this very forum who unironically purchase and play destiny expansions
People put money into things they enjoy. Why does that bother you? No need to get so upset over $30
theyve charged about $160-170 for this game since its release in 2014. they cut tons of disc content and locked it behind paywalls that they called 'expansions'. anyone who bought into this shit and continues to buy into it is fucking pathetic and is only encouraging these manipulative business practices.
This cut content thing has been beaten to death. Read the Kotaku article if you haven't. It's a long read. But it will tell you what happened. As far as cut content goes. They didn't just cut it out, and release it later. They cut it and threw it away, or completely re-designed it. The Destiny advertised years ago is gone.

gonna check B.shit to see if anyone is actually defending this
Nothing really wrong with it. Anyone can get a Ghorn. You just have to pre-order to get the black version, who cares?

746
You can still get the ghorn as a reward in-game, preorders just get it early.

The whole stream was boring tbh.
Anyone can get it. Sorta. If you pre-order it, you get the "Iron Gjallahorn" Same as the original just black. Only way to get it is to Pre-Order.
The iron reskin is exclusive to preorders, but you can still get the standard version through a quest in the DLC.
Yeah. What you said.

Buying this. Looks interesting. They never said there be no more paid content by the way. Microtransactions only fund their live team which does small updates and events.

It looks like it's about the same size as TTK. So I'd expect it to be $40 also.
